Precision Repair for
Espresso & Coffee
Machines
Wolentra provides technical diagnosis and repair for domestic and commercial coffee machines. We work methodically, explain our findings clearly, and carry out only the work that is genuinely required.
What We Work On
Whether you have a domestic espresso machine at home or a commercial setup that keeps a team running, we carry out thorough diagnosis before recommending any course of action.
Home Espresso Machine Repair
Domestic coffee machines develop faults that are often straightforward to diagnose once the machine is opened and examined properly. We assess the pump, heating element, group head, steam circuits, and electronic controls before providing you with a clear written explanation of the fault and the work required.
We work on machines from De'Longhi, Sage, Jura, Siemens, Bosch, Philips, Nespresso, Gaggia, Rancilio, and most other domestic brands.
- Pump and pressure testing
- Heating element assessment
- Electrical fault diagnosis
- Group head and seal replacement
- Temperature calibration
Commercial Espresso Machine Servicing
Commercial espresso machines operate under high-volume conditions and require regular maintenance to remain reliable. We provide scheduled servicing arrangements for cafés, offices, restaurants, and hospitality venues across the Cambridge area.
Each service visit follows a structured checklist covering boiler condition, group head performance, pump pressure, solenoid valves, and steam wands. We keep records of each visit and provide a written report.
- Preventive maintenance contracts
- Group head cleaning and calibration
- Boiler and pressure testing
- Solenoid valve inspection
- Parts sourcing and replacement
Descaling & Deep Maintenance
Limescale accumulates inside coffee machines regardless of whether you use filtered water. Over time, scale deposits restrict flow, raise operating temperatures, and place additional stress on components. Our descaling and deep cleaning service removes this accumulation using appropriate descaling agents and manual inspection of affected components.
After descaling, we test the machine's flow rate, temperature consistency, and pump pressure to confirm it is operating within normal parameters.
- Full internal limescale removal
- Boiler and pipe inspection
- Flow rate and pressure verification
- Post-service performance check
Before & After a Service
Scale buildup, blocked valves, and worn components affect how a machine operates. Drag the slider to see the difference a thorough service makes to a domestic espresso machine.
Results vary depending on machine condition, water hardness in your area, and how regularly the machine has been maintained.
How the Repair Process Works
We follow a consistent process on every job. Each stage is communicated clearly, and no work is carried out without your knowledge and approval.
Contact us by phone or our online form. We'll ask about the machine and the symptoms you've noticed.
We agree a convenient time for collection or workshop drop-off, depending on your location.
We carry out a thorough internal inspection, documenting each fault with measurements and observations.
You receive a clear written summary of findings and a cost breakdown before any repair work begins.
Once approved, we carry out only the agreed work. We use compatible parts and document each replacement.
The machine is tested before return. We provide a brief care guide specific to your model and water type.
What Our Customers Say
Feedback from people who have used Wolentra for machine repair and servicing. We do not edit or selectively present reviews.
"My De'Longhi had been losing pressure for months. Wolentra diagnosed a worn pump seal and a partially blocked group head. The written report was detailed and easy to understand — no jargon, no pressure to agree to extra work. Collected and returned within a week."
"We run a small café in Ely and have had Wolentra service our La Marzocca twice a year for the past three years. Their commercial servicing arrangement is properly structured — they keep records of every visit and let us know in advance when parts are likely to need attention."
"I appreciated that they told me honestly what it would cost before starting. The fault turned out to be a temperature sensor — simple enough to fix, but they still documented the whole thing. Machine's been running well for six months since."
"Brought in a Sage Barista Express that had stopped heating properly. Took a few days longer than I expected, but they communicated throughout. The diagnosis was accurate and the repair was explained clearly. Would use again."
"Our office Jura had an error code that the manufacturer's helpline couldn't resolve over the phone. Wolentra opened it, found a faulty flow meter, and replaced it. The turnaround was quick and the pricing was fair given what was involved."
"I had assumed my Gaggia Classic was beyond economical repair, but the assessment showed that only the solenoid valve needed replacing. They were straightforward about it — told me the repair was worthwhile and explained what to watch for going forward."
Meet the Team
Wolentra is a small specialist team. Everyone who works on your machine has been trained directly in-house and is familiar with the specific requirements of each machine type we support.
Daniel founded Wolentra in 2014 after a decade working in commercial appliance repair. He leads diagnostics on complex faults and handles all commercial servicing contracts.
Claire manages domestic machine repairs with a focus on pump and seal work. She holds a City & Guilds qualification in electrical appliance servicing.
Raj oversees descaling and preventive maintenance work. He developed the structured maintenance checklist now used for all commercial servicing contracts.
Emma manages all customer communication, from initial enquiry through to repair completion. She coordinates bookings and ensures each customer receives a clear, timely update throughout the process.
Based in Cambridge
Our workshop is in Cambridge city centre. We serve customers in Cambridge, Ely, Huntingdon, St Ives, Saffron Walden, Royston, and surrounding areas. Collection and return is available for machines within reasonable travelling distance.
For locations further afield, machines can be sent to our workshop by courier. We provide guidance on suitable packaging to prevent damage in transit.
Frequently Asked Questions
In most cases, machines are brought to our Cambridge workshop. This allows us to carry out a thorough inspection in a controlled environment with the correct tools. For commercial machines that are fixed installations, or for customers with accessibility requirements, we can discuss on-site visits separately. Collection from your address can be arranged for domestic machines at an additional charge.
Turnaround time depends on the nature of the fault and parts availability. Simple repairs — such as seal replacements or descaling — are generally completed within 3–5 working days. More complex faults involving electronic components or specialist parts may take up to 10 working days. We will give you an estimated completion time once we have assessed the machine.
If our assessment indicates that the cost of repair would not be economically sensible given the age and value of the machine, we will tell you clearly. In such cases, you will only be charged a diagnostic assessment fee, which covers the time taken to inspect the machine. We can also advise on disposal or part-sourcing if you decide to attempt a self-repair for a lower-value machine.
Where original manufacturer parts are available and reasonably priced, we use them. For certain models, compatible third-party parts from established suppliers are a sensible alternative — particularly when OEM parts are discontinued or significantly more expensive. We will always confirm which type of part is being used and explain our reasoning. You have the right to request OEM parts where available, which may affect the overall repair cost.
We work on a wide range of domestic and commercial machines, including De'Longhi, Sage (Breville), Jura, Siemens, Gaggia, Rancilio, Nuova Simonelli, La Marzocca, Victoria Arduino, Faema, Philips, Bosch, Melitta, and others. If you are unsure whether we support your specific model, please contact us with the make and model number before booking.
Parts replaced during a repair carry the manufacturer's standard warranty, which typically covers defects in the part itself. Labour for the specific repair carried out is covered for 90 days — meaning that if the same fault recurs within that period due to the repair itself, we will investigate at no additional labour charge. This does not cover unrelated faults, physical damage, or problems arising from limescale in hard water areas where descaling was not included in the original service.
